3rd International Symposium on Intelligent Distributed Computing

The 3rd International Symposium on Intelligent Distributed Computing (IDC 2009) was held October 13-14 2009 in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. The aim of this symposium was to bring together researchers involved in intelligent distributed computing to allow cross-fertilization and synergy of ideas and to enable advancement of researches in this field. The Software Engineering Department of the Faculty of Automation, Computers and Electronics, University of Craiova, Romania has been one of the organizers of this symposium.

UCV, represented by Costin Badica and Mihnea Scafes, presented a paper concerning a distributed goal-oriented reasoning engine for multi-agent systems. This work could be useful for capturing in a systematic way the DIADEM demonstration scenarios.
THALES, represented by Gregor Pavlin, presented a paper (in cooperation with UCV) that describes the DIADEM framework with a focus on workflow descriptions.

After the conference, representatives of UCV and THALES had a small DIADEM meeting. They discussed some issues of the integration of negotiation components into the DIADEM framework, including representation and usage of location information.
