Billund Airport
The Challenge
Billund Airport employs more than 800 people divided into several duty groups each with their own complicated agreements and local compromises. At the airport they work 24x7 but the work load varies a lot - not only over the season but also during the week and day. This makes a demand for a very diversified pattern of working hours for the different groups of personnel, like security staff, check-in, luggage, cleaning, etc.
Related to a new salary system that Billund Airport was implementing they wanted to add new facilities to make efficient staff scheduling - including registration of changes and deviations on duties.
The Solution
At Billund Airport they chose to use PDC Staffplan to make staff scheduling. The airport has got a solution that first and foremost handles all the different work regulations that different agreements for the staff groups - of which some are quite complicated.
The Billund Airport solution is extended with an advanced warning and documentation system for changes made to an already published duty plan. All changes are sent to the employee in an e-mail. It must be approved by the employee and manager before it is valid. naturally, the solution is integrated with the staff and salary system - so all data is registered only once.
