United Nations Climate Change Conference – COP15

Copenhagen hosted the 15th UN Climate Change Conference meeting in December 2009. The conference gathered thousands of people from all over the world, including the top leaders of the world. To enhance the security around the meeting, PDC was asked by The Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) to develop and enhance the existing forecast service included the ARGOS suite. It was decided to make the ARGOS forecast service much more accessible by providing a web interface. The web interface allows users to easily create new forecasts, set up a schedule for the forecasts, and to see the results of the forecast. DEMA decided which places in Copenhagen that was eligible for running prognoses. These places included the Meeting area (The Bella Center), but also a lot other selected places in the town.

Figure 1 shows the Scheduled Requests on the COP 15 ARGOS prognosis server. From the web page it’s possible to create a new request, update or delete an existing request or delete the results calculated until now for a request. And finally to see the results made so far a request.
